You’ll have full access to the cottage during your stay which includes a kitchen diner, cosy living room, two bedrooms, a family bathroom and a sun-drenched backyard with outdoor seating. Whether you’re travelling for a couples escape, a getaway with friends or a family staycation, Spring Cottage will provide a comfortable and relaxing base on the North Yorkshire coast.
The Space:
You’ll find light and airy interiors throughout Spring Cottage. There is a traditional cosy cottage feel which is balanced perfectly with a fresh and refined look. Upon entering, you’ll be welcomed into the homely living room where you’ll find comfortable sofas and a flat screen TV making it the perfect space for relaxing.
The cottage boasts an open plan kitchen diner at the rear of the property. Fully equipped, the shaker style kitchen boasts modern appliances and cookware so you can prepare home cooked meals during your stay. The dining area includes a wooden table and four traditional dining chairs.
Double doors open out into the backyard where you’ll find a patio area and outdoor seating. Ideal for alfresco meals and morning coffees, this space is very sought after in Whitby!
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. Both bedrooms benefit from double beds with premium mattresses and plush bedding to ensure you have a blissful night’s sleep. Modern and sophisticated, the family bathroom is complete with a bathtub, walk-in shower, WC and vanity unit.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
The property benefits from a private parking space and a rear garden with dining table and seating area.
Please note that there are currently ongoing works at the neighbouring property which will be taking place within normal working hours.
The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Spring Cottage is a short walk into the centre of town. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short walk from Spring Cottage.
Whitby train station is less than a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

This vacation home is located in Whitby. Whitby Harbour and Whitby Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore North York Moors National Park and Whitby Beach. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
