Ty’r Adar, translating to House of Birds in Welsh, is a charming two-bedroom self-catering accommodation located in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Wales. This delightful property is part of a former Victorian slate cutting mill and shares its roof with three other holiday lets. Nestled within 45 acres of wild woods and fields, it offers breathtaking views of the Mawddach Estuary and is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Snowdonia National Park. The house comfortably sleeps four guests, making it an ideal retreat for families or small groups seeking a peaceful getaway.

The spacious interior of Ty’r Adar features a large open-plan lounge and kitchen area, elegantly decorated in warm, inviting colors. Guests can unwind on two comfortable sofas after a day of exploration while enjoying modern amenities such as Wi-Fi and a large screen TV. The recently refurbished bathroom includes a small bath and a hot overhead shower, ensuring a refreshing experience.

Upstairs, the master bedroom boasts a double bed with picturesque views of the surrounding wooded hills, while the second bedroom can be configured with either two single beds or a super-king size bed, all adorned with cozy Welsh tapestry blankets. For additional sleeping arrangements, a double sofa bed is available in the lounge, complemented by efficient storage heaters that maintain a snug atmosphere even without the woodburner. Although Ty’r Adar does not offer direct views of the estuary, the property is alive with the sounds of nature, including the delightful calls of owls at night and the lively activity of various birds at the outdoor feeder.

Outside, guests can enjoy a small private patio equipped with a table and chairs, perfect for relaxing in the fresh air. While this cottage lacks enclosed outdoor space for young children or pets, the nearby campsite provides ample opportunities for exploration, with 40 acres of woods and fields to discover. Situated in a rural area near the coast, Ty’r Adar is conveniently located close to local landmarks such as Cymer Abbey and Barmouth Bridge. The region offers a variety of activities, including golfing, hiking, and water sports, making it an excellent choice for those looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and adventure that Wales has to offer.
