The surrounding landscape is interwoven with rural lanes that lead to footpaths up Little Mell Fell and across Swinburns Park to Gowbarrow Fell and Aira Force, which is part of the renowned Ullswater Way. Just a short drive away, visitors can enjoy the quaint village of Pooley Bridge, notable for its unique stainless steel bridge, alongside a variety of dining options, gift shops, and a local store for supplies.

Glenridding, another nearby village, is celebrated for its breathtaking 360-degree mountain views and is recognized by Wainwright as one of the prettiest spots in the Lake District. This area serves as a gateway for some of the most spectacular walks, including routes to Helvellyn via Striding Edge, Place Fell, and High Street. History enthusiasts can explore the historic properties of Dalemain, Hutton in the Forest, and Lowther Castle, each featuring delightful tearooms. Additionally, visitors can indulge in delicious Jersey ice cream from Abbott Lodge Farm, while further afield, attractions such as Carlisle, Eden Valley, Howgill Fells, Lanercost Priory, and Hadrian's Wall await exploration.

The accommodation itself is a spacious, single-level cottage designed for comfort and convenience, accommodating up to four guests. Upon entering, guests are welcomed into a lounge/diner characterized by a vaulted ceiling, featuring a three-seater sofa and armchair positioned in front of a flame effect gas fire and a TV/DVD, creating a cozy atmosphere for relaxation. The dining area offers lovely garden views, while the contemporary kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including an electric oven, gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, and dishwasher, making meal preparation a breeze.

Sleeping arrangements include a twin room and a super king-size bedroom, both with en suite shower facilities and WC, providing privacy and comfort for all guests. The outdoor space features a lovely south-facing patio with views of the High Street Range, complemented by a lawned area beyond the enclosed patio. Additionally, the property offers parking for two cars. With a plethora of activities available in the vicinity, such as kayaking, canoeing, horse riding, and quad biking, as well as opportunities to visit Wordsworth's birthplace and homes, guests will find plenty to engage with while enjoying the natural beauty of Ullswater and its surroundings.
