The North York Moors National Park (9.5 miles) is teeming with excellent walking areas and routes, with the Cleveland Way being a popular waymarked trail to follow, bringing you across some breathtaking landscapes. Take a trip further south to find the White Horse, the largest and most northerly of England's horse figures it's a fantastic sight to behold! Another historic and scenic setting is the National Trust's Rievaulx Abbey and Terrace (16 miles), dramatic 11th century ruins in the North York Moors with a cafe and visitor centre. Access the property through the gate, head past the lawn and step inside the cottage to discover a traditional, cosy lounge featuring a wood burner. In the evenings, relaxing in the charming lounge with character beams has the additional benefit of a Smart TV, ideal for a night in enjoying your favourite films. Head through to the well equipped kitchen, where you can rustle up flavourful meals ready to be enjoyed in the dining room. Gather here with your group with a bottle of celebratory fizz, planning your next day out. Venturing upstairs, you will find two immaculate, neutrally styled bedrooms, offering plenty of light, space and storage, as well as stunning wooden beams. These comprise a king size and a twin bedroom that is accessed via the Jack and Jill shower room. There is also a study area which would make a great spot for a travel cot. Outside, you will find a beautifully kept, enclosed walled garden with well stocked borders, fruit trees and various sitting spots to follow the sun from morning to night.
