Plumbland is a small peaceful farming village tucked away in the little known Ellen Vale, yet is within a short distance of numerous local attractions. A 9 mile trip takes you to the coastal town of Maryport where you can spend the day on the beach and admire views which reach to Scotland. There is an aquarium here and other attractions to keep you entertained come rain or shine. Your nearest lake is Bassenthwaite which lies 10 miles from your door. A path runs along the west side so you can enjoy a waterside wander and take in the views. Over the River Ellen is the small town of Asptaria (2.5 miles) where you can stock up on goodies for your cupboards or board the train on the Cumbrian Coast Line. Head inside via the porch where you can leave muddy boots behind before making your way through the door. Find yourself in the lounge where exposed beams and a cosy wood burner add character and charm, sit on the sofa or chairs to get comfortable. There is a TV/DVD to keep you entertained and plenty of local books to help you plan your holiday adventures. A fold out card table sits in the corner of the room perfect for laying out board games. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a microwave and an under counter fridge, find all you need to cook up delicious meals. Dine at the table which seats four and enjoy spending time together over a meal. From the kitchen, there is a utility room with an under counter freezer and washer/dryer, a door leads outside. Steep, cottage style stairs take you up to the first floor where two welcoming bedrooms await. The first is a spacious double with exposed beams, a sloping ceiling and lovely views. This room is treated to an en suite shower room with WC. The second room is a twin bedroom which also benefits from an en suite shower room with WC. Spend time outside and enjoy a drink or two in the private garden. Located through the stone wall at the back, left, the garden for #3 Wellhead is a lovely spot for a sundowner on the wooden deck, or you could sit under the gazebo (in a further enclosed, shared area) with your morning cup of tea. Look for the red door with the white bike sign to find a useful, lockable shed where you can store bikes and will find outdoor furniture for your use. There is off road parking for one car and roadside parking nearby.
