This cottage is located in Near Sawrey, the location of Hill Top, the beloved home of Beatrix Potter, now owned by the National Trust and a fitting memorial to the writer. Just two miles from the property is the shoreline of Lake Windermere, and the ferry terminal from a where a small car ferry takes visitors across the lake to Bowness. Those who want to enjoy the outdoor pursuits that this area is famous for, will find plenty to do within a few miles of the property, including water sports on Coniston Water, climbing at Dow Crag, the high ropes course and zip wire in Grizedale forest. Entering this cottage through the timber porch, guests will immediately notice just how much care and attention has gone into the details to keep the interior of this cottage in keeping with its Arts and Crafts heritage. The lounge features an open fire, and pretty window seat, as well as more modern creature comforts in the form of the TV/DVD, and hi fi. Across the hall, there is a contemporary kitchen equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, whilst the washing machine and tumble dryer are located in a separate utility room. The dining room makes the perfect place for enjoying family meals and there is also a ground floor WC. On the first floor, the master bedroom has carefully chosen antique furniture, including a sumptuous Edwardian double bed, whilst the second bedroom is a tastefully decorated twin with views across the surrounding countryside and twin beds. The bathroom offers the best of both worlds, with a bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. Outside, the property has a lawn to front of the property, and seating area to the side: a lovely place to relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings. The cottage also has one acre of woodland to the rear of the property, which guests are free to explore. There is off road parking for two cars on the drive and bike storage is available for guests use.
