Nestled just below the top of a ridge between the Dove and Manifold valleys, Longnor provides an excellent starting point for many walks. For those who like to explore the countryside on two wheels, bicycles (pedal and electric) can also be hired locally at various points along the Tissington, High Peak and Manifold Trails. The market towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek, with their many antique shops and tearooms, are easily accessible by car or bus. Many Peak District villages set amongst beautiful countryside are well worth visiting including Tissington, Hartington, Eyam and Tideswell. From May to September, many villages also celebrate the tradition of Well Dressing a tradition unique to the Peak District and Derbyshire. Step into this traditional cottage and notice the old front door and stone floor that welcome you into the lounge. This room offers comfy seating, a Smart TV and an array of books, providing a cosy space to sit, relax and plan the day's activities ahead. There is a drop leaf dining table which can be extended to seat four people, situated near to the kitchen area. The kitchen, although small, provides everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal during your stay, including an electric oven and hob, a small fridge/freezer, and a microwave. Head upstairs to the first floor where you will find a pretty double bedroom decorated with tasteful fabrics and wooden bedroom furniture. There is also a shower room with an enclosed shower and WC on this floor. Head up a further flight of stairs to the mezzanine bedroom with a king size bed, dual aspect windows, a high ceiling and exposed beams. Outside, the shared garden is a short walk away from the cottage alleyway. There is a nearby shed with bike storage and a wonderful patio with seating and outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. Parking is on the roadside with no restrictions.
