Gosforth is a charming and historic village within a short drive from miles of unspoiled and deserted coastline as well as the mountains. With a well stocked convenience store/off license, an excellent cafe, a good bakery, several pubs, and a restaurant, it is a fantastic base for exploring a spellbinding corner of Cumbria. Scafell Pike looms in the distance, inviting keen walkers to tackle its summit 9.5 miles away, but those who prefer a gentle amble will appreciate the footpaths leading from the village. Why not try your hand at stand up paddleboarding on Wastwater or kayak down the crystal clear River Esk (both within 8 miles). Once through the front door, you will find a home away from home experience at this property which retains a lot of its classic features including exposed beams and stone walls. A cosy lounge awaits you with two armchairs and a two seater sofa surrounding an open fire and a Smart TV with a DVD perfect for a night spent watching a movie. At the rear of the room is a gateleg table and chairs which create a great atmosphere when it comes to mealtimes. Through to the back is the compact kitchen with an electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC is also on the ground floor, ideal after a day out on the hills as you can head straight in. On the first floor are two bedrooms, one double, which offers views over fields beyond, and a twin room with two single beds. Out to the front of the property, there is a patio area with a bench to enjoy those views over the fields and beyond with a cuppa. There is on street parking outside the property.
