From the village, you can cross the river and walk up to the popular Monsal Trail, a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders through some of the Peak District s most spectacular limestone dales. The pretty villages of Litton and Tideswell are nearby and host an array of amenities for you to enjoy such as pubs, cafes and shops. A short drive away are the delightful country historic houses of Chatsworth House and Gardens and Haddon Hall; don t forget to stop at the farm shop and stock up on local goodies. Buxton (10.5 miles) is a famous spa town and home of the Buxton Opera House which hosts many cultural events throughout the year. The cottage is accessed via steep steps leading down from the road. Step into the hall and find ample space to store coats and boots. The kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal including an electric Range oven and hob, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a microwave, dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Relax in the lounge on the comfy sofas, light the wood burner and pop something on the TV to unwind. The dining table provides a lovely view to enjoy during a meal with good company. Head up the stairs where you will find three bedrooms: a king size bedroom with wonderful views of the valley, a small double bedroom with a 4ft double bed and a single bedroom. The bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC. Walk around to the back of the cottage where you will find an enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor seating and BBQ, perfect for enjoying those long summer evenings. Roadside parking is available on a first come first serve basis and a small car park is located a short distance up the road.
