Enjoy walking routes in the beautiful countryside from the cottage doorstep and also to the local pond where you can relax with a picnic. Discover Berwick upon Tweed with cobbled streets, historic town walls, walks, the Lowry Trail, a range of shops, art galleries, theatres, pubs and restaurants, not mention the estuary with its beautiful bridges. Head to nearby Holy Island of Lindisfarne (16 miles) to visit the Priory and sample the famous mead or spend time in Bamburgh (22 miles) with its renowned eateries and sandy beach in front of the magnificent castle. Play golf nearby, try rock pooling on Cocklawburn Beach (8 miles), visit the bustling harbour at Eyemouth (13 miles) and the gardens and tearoom at Paxton House (7 miles), while Wooler (16 miles) and the Cheviot Hills (22 miles) are just a short drive away. Access to this beautifully finished cottage is through the front door from the garden. You enter the inviting and bright open plan lounge/diner and you'll find plenty of comfortable seating to relax on in front of the electric wood burner effect fire for cosy evenings watching the Smart TV. The large dining table can seat up to eight guests for sociable breakfasts and dinner times. Head through to the well equipped kitchen to prepare your meals with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, coffee machine, dishwasher, and also a washer/dryer. The contemporary shower room is located opposite the kitchen and comprises a large shower cubicle and WC. At bedtime, head down the hallway for the two bedrooms: one with a king size bed and a lovely view of the garden and another with quirky bunk beds with plenty of headroom so adults could sleep here in comfort too. There is a cupboard with enough storage for both bedrooms. For two families of four, you can book The Glebe s Nest next door, and all dine and socialise together in Ferniebeds, sitting at the larger dining table and in the lounge. Outside, there is an enclosed, south facing garden and patio area with a table and chairs, BBQ, and a chiminea where you can enjoy al fresco dining and dark sky stargazing. There is also a small bistro set where you can enjoy your morning coffee with views across beautiful open countryside. Private parking is off road for two cars.
