Located on a quiet lane in the historic, riverside market town of Bellingham, this cottage is set in glorious countryside close to Kielder Water and Forest Park (18.5 miles). Stroll to the friendly village shops, pubs, and restaurants or enjoy walks from the doorstep along this pretty stretch of the River North Tyne. One such walk is the popular Hareshaw Linn Walk (1 mile) which takes you through ancient woodland and over six bridges to arrive at the breathtaking waterfall. Park at some of Kielder s many beauty spots for spectacular scenery, walking and cycling routes. Head to the wildlife cabin at Tower Knowe Visitor Centre (10 miles) to see ospreys and the Kielder Observatory (20 miles) for an unforgettable Dark Skies experience. Visit Hadrian s Wall (29 miles), Housesteads (17 miles) and the Roman fort at Vindolanda (19 miles). Step inside this charming stone cottage for a warm welcome. You can hang your outdoor clothing and store your walking boots at the door before heading into the inviting lounge. The stone inglenook fireplace houses the cosy wood burner so you can sit and relax on the comfortable seating before thinking about dinner. There are books to dip into and fun games to play, as well as a Smart TV for your entertainment if you are planning a couple of evenings in or a movie night. A sliding wooden door leads through to the well equipped kitchen and includes an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an icebox, a microwave and a washing machine. Upstairs there are two well presented bedrooms: a king size bedroom which gets the morning sun so is perfect for breakfast in bed with views over nearby gardens towards the river, and a twin bedroom with views over the pretty neighbouring gardens. The family bathroom comprises a shower over the bath and WC. Outside, at the rear, there is a small, enclosed courtyard with a garden table and chairs where you can enjoy morning coffee. There is an access gate on each side for the neighbouring properties to use occasionally. Parking is on street in the adjacent lane, plus there is free parking 40 metres away in the village square (both subject to availability).
