With much of the area managed by the National Trust, there are some spectacular walking routes nearby to include the Padley Gorge, Haywood and the Longshaw Estate. Take a walk into the village for a delicious pub lunch at Sir William or to pick up your groceries for your stay. The cottage is set back from the road on a hill with views over the valley. Up the well lit steps through the front garden, the main entrance leads into a welcoming hall, the perfect place to store your coats and boats. The sitting and dining room beyond features wooden floors and a cosy log burning stove set in an attractive stone fireplace. The fully equipped stone flagged kitchen has an impressive map covered feature wall, ideal for planning your walks and includes granite worktops, Belfast sink, useful breakfast table, original 100 year old feature side oven and back boiler and pretty views across the garden. Off this room is a handy separate utility room. The two bedrooms are located on the first floor. The master bedrooms has an impressive king sized sleigh bed, colourfully wallpapered feature wall, wooden floorboards and pretty curtains. The second bedroom also has a double bed and enjoys views over the garden. The rooms share a recently refurbished bathroom, with elegant corner bath, separate shower cubicle and floor to ceiling stone tiling. At the rear of the cottage is a courtyard and summer house, perfect for BBQs enjoyed at the low stone table. There is a further stone walled courtyard, which enjoys sun for most of the day, along with a lawned garden with patio sitting area.
