Found on a quiet traffic free lane in Appledore, an attractive traditional fishing village with its maze of narrow lanes, brightly painted cottages and bustling quayside. A variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the village offer a wide range of cuisine and local seafood or visit some of the independent shops and galleries showcasing local arts and crafts. A seasonal ferry takes passengers across the estuary to the pretty village of Instow with its sheltered stretch of sandy beach. Or, visit the two miles of golden sands at Westward Ho! also great for surfing and under a mile away. The pannier market town of Bideford is a few miles drive with its shops and restaurants and is home to The Oldenburg for day trips to Lundy Island. Enter through a gated entrance and up three external steps to a small enclosed decked courtyard and through the front door to the beautiful open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has a Smart TV/DVD and French doors opening into the quaint pedestrian street. The kitchen has a gas oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There are French doors from the dining area opening into the enclosed sun trapped courtyard with apple and peach trees. From the kitchen head through a door to a hall which also has a door opening into the courtyard, it is also a useful space to hang coats and store sandy shoes after a day on the beach. You will also find the family bathroom here with shower over bath and WC. Heading up the stairs to the two mezzanine bedrooms where curtains can be drawn for privacy. There is a master double bedroom that overlooks the courtyard and a twin bedroom. Heading into the sun trapped enclosed courtyard from the dining area a step up takes you to the patio with seating, which has been cleverly created from stones from an original stone wall. It is a perfect secluded space to enjoy some al fresco dining, or a place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. There is free roadside parking close by, subject to availability, or a public pay and display car parking nearby.
