Sunset Cottages have been lovingly converted from a part of the old traditional farm buildings at Grimston Manor Farm.

Together they form a most impressive west facing facade, with superb views and memorable sunsets.

Peaceful, settled, rooted effortlessly in the landscape Manor Farm and its cottages are in the heart of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Gilling Gap, is part of the west facing Sunset Cottages barn conversion at Manor Farm. Nestling in the heart of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, only 9 miles from Castle Howard and 25 minutes from York.

Enjoy stunning views across open countryside, and rolling hills with fields of sheep, horses, woodland, bird life and truly memorable sunsets. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway, in a property cared for by the owners family, Gilling Gap is a perfect place from which to explore all of North Yorkshire. Heather’s home baked Hikers Delight and fresh flowers await.

Full of character, Gilling Gap has pitch pine beams, exposed stonework and country furnishings adding to a timeless feel. From the beautifully dressed stone arch entrance, the ground floor is open plan with kitchen eating and sitting area. Upstairs the main bedroom is a double with countryside views and sunsets. The pretty bathroom with toilet, washbasin, and thermostatically controlled shower over a full sized bath. A second bedroom has two full size single beds. All rooms are well heated via our central biomass boiler. WiFi throughout.

There is ample private parking with easy access. The separate laundry room onsite has washing machines, and tumble dryer, and the Reception room has lots of additional local information, tourism leaflets, and maps to borrow. Bikes may be stored under cover.

The adjacent farmhouse garden has been created with a life time of love, unique in its design, with plenty of seating and secluded areas. Our guests are welcome to sit a while or wander.

We will meet you during your stay, and for those guests interested in farming activities we can do accompanied tours by arrangement.

This cottage is located in York. Duncombe Park and National Trust Nunnington Hall are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Yorkshire Lavender and The Dutch House. Traveling with kids? Consider Web Adventure Park and Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo. Explore all the area has to offer with mountain biking and cycling.
