Staying in the Lake District should require a lake view, and Mell Fell has just that, with its quintessential panorama across Ullswater and the back drop of the surrounding fells. This first floor apartment is set in the stunning grounds of Wreay Mansions, a former hunting lodge, just a short distance from the quieter and more peaceful end of the lake. This perfect Lakeland retreat takes full advantage of the view, as the living room and both bedrooms front onto the communal gardens. The living room is spacious, bright and airy, and the dining area is filled with natural light from the large velux window. Just off from here there is a well-equipped kitchen, perfect to cook a delicious meal be it for a romantic night in for two, or to start the day with a hearty breakfast as you and your guests head out to explore. With stunning countryside and lake views, the bedrooms provide sumptuous beds bringing a good night’s sleep. Wake up revived and refreshed from a shower in the family bathroom. Outside, the south-facing gardens are large and extensive.
The village of Watermilock on the shores of Ullswater, is just a 10-minute walk away. Here, you will find a selection of fine dining restaurants and country inns serving home cooked food and real ales. Nearby Pooley Bridge is where you can catch the steamer across the lake. There are many walks in the area from lakeside strolls and waterfalls to more challenging routes on the surrounding fells, which are some of the finest in the National Park, including Helvellyn with its famous Striding Edge. The lakeside road meanders over the Kirkstone Pass. Enjoy the spectacular scenery, then drop down into Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere nearby. Shop 7 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

There is a car space clearly designated at the entrance for Flat #8 Mell Fell that is for pick up and drop off only. Longer term parking is located down the hill in the Wreay Mansions carpark which serves the estate. The designated space in the car park for Mell Fell is #10. We would also add that because of the stairs to the entrance, and also the parking, Mell Fell may not suitable for those who are Disabled.

Located in Penrith, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Penrith & Eden Museum and Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Dalemain Country Park and Dalemain. Rookin House Activity Centre and Glenridding Sailing Centre are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as fishing.
