The cottage is located centrally in the Lake District National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is superb walking from the doorstep, water sports are available in the village, and a cruise on the famous Ullswater steamer to Pooley Bridge or Aira Force is a must. A spectacular drive over nearby Kirkstone Pass drops down into Windermere and Ambleside making this an excellent central holiday location.

Holehird Gardens and Treetop Trek are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding nearby.
