Please note: This property is accessed via a rough track and there is a river beyond the garden.. The cottage is perfect for families, with an enclosed rear garden, and no busy road to contend with whilst unpacking the car. Betws-y-Coed is known as the ‘gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, a popular destination for all age groups. It’s a bustling spot with many highly rated eateries to enjoy, friendly pubs, some fabulous shops selling local items and various outdoor pursuit shops. Not forgetting the golf club right next door to the cottage. There are some very scenic walks straight from your doorstep, along rivers, waterfalls, and forestry.
Llyn Elsi sits above the village and is well worth the hike up. The famous Marin Bike Trails are nearby, with colour coded routes suitable for all abilities. There is a bike hire shop in Betws-y-Coed and at the nearby market town of Llanrwst; here you will also find a larger grocery store. Just up the road from the bike trails is Llyn Geirionydd (Geirionydd Lake) this is a wonderful spot for a day out where you can use the lake to take a dip, or use your paddle boards and kayaks; there are picnic benches available, parking and toilets. Tree Top Adventures is a few minutes’ drive down the road where you will find six adventures to choose from, some of which are tree hoping, forest coaster and skyride, check out their website and be sure to book to avoid disappointment.
In the opposite direction is Llechwedd Slate Caverns, another great day out for the kids and adults alike, with further activities for all interests such as deep mine tours, underground golf, ziplines and more. Just a short drive down towards the coast is Surf Snowdonia, and a little further on from here is the historic harbour town of Conwy with many historic sights and buildings to visit, such as Conwy Castle and the smallest house in Great Britain down on the harbour.

Located in Betws-Y-Coed, this cottage is on a river. Gwydir Castle and Y Bont Fawr - Llanrwst Bridge are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Eryri National Park and Lledr Valley. Conwy Valley Railway Museum and Zip World Fforest are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding nearby.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
