Welcome to Y Bwthyn Bach-Arthog Hall Barns, nestled between the historic market town of Dolgellau and the coastal village of Fairbourne; this Welsh stone cottage is an ideal base for exploring north-west Wales.
The cottage oozes rustic charm, with high vaulted ceilings, a delightful interior finished with reclaimed wood furniture and rural country art. The open plan living, and dining area is the heart of the cottage; the rustic colours, fabrics and materials blend with the natural surroundings and provide a relaxing haven where you can cosy up on the sofa with a book by the wood burner or enjoy a hearty meal at the picnic style wooden dining table. You’ll find all your home comforts in the well-appointed kitchen. The ground floor has underfloor heating, making those cooler months a dream. The upstairs is filled with natural light from the floor to ceiling glass windows and Velux windows across the landing area. There are two double bedrooms, both with comfortable bedding and tranquil décor, along with a spacious bathroom providing a bath with rain shower over, for everyone to indulge in. A sunny patio overlooks the front garden making it a lovely spot to enjoy a morning cuppa and to plan your activities for the day.
With so many activities to do, from wild swimming, kayaking, fishing, horse riding, walking, and cycling, you won’t be short of something to do. You’ll also find attractions such as The Mawddach Trail, Afon Arthog and Waterfalls, and Cregennan Lakes; the area is packed full of dramatic and captivating scenery. For the more adventurous types, there’s Coed Y Brenin for mountain bike riding and hiking trails, or if you’re feeling energetic, walk up Cader Idris to Penygader. There is a route starting near Penmaenpool on the A493. Or just head to one of the beaches, the Gwynedd Coast has some of the best beaches in Wales.

Located in Arthog, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. Fairbourne Golf Club and Torrent Walk are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Penrhyn Amusement Arcade and Go Ape at Coed y Brenin. King Arthur's Labyrinth and Corris Craft Centre are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for outdoor excitement like ecotours.
