We love the character of this cosy cottage, with its exposed wooden beams and its quiet location near Ambleside in the heart of the Lakes, with easy access to attractions and Coniston and Windermere waters.. Ground Floor:

On road parking. No smoking. . As soon as you step into this charming cottage you get an instant homely feel, as its low ceilings and exposed beams draw you inside. The open plan lounge and dining area is cosy with a log burner for those chilly nights, along with comfy seating and a dining table where you can sit and plan your adventures for the holiday. The separate kitchen is small but perfectly formed with all the appliances and amenities you could ask for including a wine cooler! Upstairs there are two bedrooms. On the first floor is the master bedroom which plays host to a comfy sleigh-style double bed, and there is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower above. The second floor consists of a twin room with views across the landscape and a shower room. Outside there is a small patio area to enjoy a cool drink on those sunny days.
Outgate itself is a quaint and quiet little hamlet located on the outskirts of Ambleside. There is a friendly pub a few yards away, and if you enjoy walking then there are paths and walks which you can pick up from the doorstep. The cottage is ideally located offering easy access to popular towns such as Ambleside which offers a great selection of independent shops, great pubs and cafés, and a variety of restaurants. In addition, it also has a couple of cinemas, and for the active amongst you a climbing wall.
Other popular towns such as Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston are a short drive away, as are famous lakes such as Windermere and Coniston. For water sports enthusiasts there are a variety of pastimes including sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking to name a few. Maybe you’d prefer to cruise across Windermere on a boat cruise or hire a motor boat? Lovers of the great outdoors are drawn to this area for walking, cycling and climbing amongst the world-famous scenery but the Lake district offers something for everyone from family fun such as the safari zoo, aquarium, Go ape high ropes adventure to Segways, or alternatively, you might prefer Michelin starred restaurants, a day at the races, the motor museum or a visit to a stately home. Whatever you enjoy you’ll want to keep coming back for more.

Located in Ambleside, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Hawkshead Grammar School and Wray Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Go Ape Grizedale and Raw War Paintball. Treetop Trek and Cocoa Hearts are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding nearby.
