Welcome to Woodpecker, one of two purpose-built pods nestled in woodland on a small sheltered rural park, ideal for couples and families. There is a separate bedroom with bunk bed, ideal for putting children to bed whilst you enjoy the dark night skies or curl up on the sofa with a book or watch a film. The main area has a double bed, a modern kitchenette and table with fold away chairs for four guests, whilst at the rear is a spacious shower room. On the nearby campsite is a laundrette and indoor and outdoor play areas. The small on-site shop sells fresh croissants and coffee, as well having local wines, beers and gifts (these facilities are open April-September).
Located in Hayle, it is only a 5-minute drive to the 3 miles of golden sand at Gwithian Beach, popular for water sports and a favourite for families. The coffee shop here provides hot and cold refreshments. If you travel 15 minutes towards Penzance you will come to the market town of Marazion, home to St Michael’s Mount where you can walk across the causeway at low tide to visit the gardens and castle. It is well worth a day out to pop into the local galleries and shops or stop for a pasty or ice cream. The younger ones will love the large play area near the car park.
St Ives is just under 10 miles away. Why not catch the open top bus or train where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and not have to worry about finding a parking space? The nearest town is Hayle, a 5-minute drive or a 25-minute walk, and is known for its wonderful beaches. The one long street joins the historic Foundry District to the shops of the Copperhouse District. Popular with artists, photographers, dog walkers, nature lovers and water sports lovers, this is a great base to explore the local area and unwind.
