With minimal light pollution, this is also a wonderful spot for stargazing, with Northumberland National Park recently being awarded the title of Europe s Largest Dark Skies Park. The local area offers a good selection of traditional pubs as well as well stocked delis, village shops and clothing boutiques. To the south is the iconic Hadrian's Wall, while to the north are the Cheviot Hills, which on a clear day offer views as far as the Lake District.
