Visitors to Argus Cottage can expect to encounter a variety of wildlife, including seals and seabirds, as they take in the picturesque surroundings adorned with seasonal pink thrift and golden gorse. However, guests should be aware that the lighthouse does not provide WiFi, and mobile phone service is very limited. A telephone with an honesty box is available for communication needs. Additionally, access to the lighthouse can be challenging due to narrow roads and potential overhanging vegetation, particularly during bird breeding seasons.
As a heritage building, Argus Cottage features unique architectural elements that may not align with modern standards, including varying floor levels and steps, necessitating caution upon arrival. Guests should also be mindful that maintenance staff may need to visit the site periodically for upkeep, although efforts will be made to respect guest privacy. While barbecues are not provided, guests are permitted to bring their own, provided they adhere to safety guidelines. Notably, the property prohibits fireworks, drones, and remote-controlled flying devices, and parents are advised to supervise children near the cliff edge, which is safeguarded by a four-foot wall.
