Located on the east side of the river Cree, the cottage is surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as woodland and hill walking, as well as cycling right at your doorstep. The property boasts a sheltered, private garden, perfect for relaxation, and is conveniently situated within walking distance of the town center, which offers a variety of hotels, cafes, and shops, including a popular hotel with a restaurant just a three-minute stroll away.

The nearby Galloway Forest Park, recognized as Britain's first Dark Skies Park, presents unparalleled stargazing experiences, making it a significant attraction for visitors. Additionally, the cottage is a short five-minute drive from one of the stages of the renowned 7Stanes mountain bike network, appealing to cycling enthusiasts. For golf lovers, the excellent 18-hole course in Minnigaff, along with various sporting facilities including game, coarse, and sea fishing, are all easily accessible from the cottage, enhancing the appeal for active guests.

Accommodations are spread over two floors, featuring a ground floor with a hall that leads to a living room equipped with a coal effect gas fire and a dining recess. The fully fitted kitchen includes a breakfast bar for two, while an inner study area offers a sofa bed for additional sleeping space. The first floor comprises a twin bedroom and a bathroom complete with a bath, over-bath shower, wash basin, and WC. The cottage is equipped with modern amenities such as gas central heating, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a TV with CD/DVD player/radio, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Guests are welcomed to bring one small dog, provided they bring their own bedding, and the cottage offers off-road parking for two cars. It is important to note that Ailsa Cottage is available for weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday, with a damage deposit of £150 required. While bed linen is provided, towels are not included.
