Stunning Lakeside Shepherd's Hut - Hot Tub & Sauna

Haverhill, Essex

2

Situated in the picturesque region of Haverhill, Essex, this stunning shepherd's hut offers a serene lakeside retreat perfect for couples seeking a peaceful getaway. Nestled at the back of a working farm and equestrian center, the hut boasts modern decor and amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy the outdoor firepit and BBQ facilities right next to the hut, while a wood-fired hot tub and sauna are available for an additional fee, enhancing the relaxation experience amidst nature. The property is securely fenced, providing privacy and safety for visitors.

The hut is strategically placed alongside a two-acre carp lake, which was dug in 2018 and stocked with 100 hand-selected fish, including mirrors and commons weighing up to 25lb. Anglers can look forward to a rewarding fishing experience, as approximately one-third of the fish are estimated to weigh over 20lb, and many have yet to be caught. While fishing can be challenging, the thrill of the catch makes it worthwhile. Additionally, horse owners have the option to bring their horses for an extra fee, with a dedicated paddock visible from the hut and access to a private 5k cross-country track.

The site is designed for tranquility, located away from the busy farm activities, with only three shepherd's huts available on the lake site, ensuring a secluded atmosphere. Access is granted through the main yard, which features equestrian facilities and commercial premises, including The Firepit Company. The location in Castle Camps is just a ten-minute drive from Haverhill and offers convenient access to Cambridge City Centre, approximately 25 minutes away, where guests can explore various attractions and amenities.

For those looking to immerse themselves in local culture and activities, Haverhill is home to the Haverhill Arts Centre and Ashdon Village Museum, along with historical landmarks such as Clare Ancient House Museum and Walden Castle Keep. Families can enjoy nearby attractions like Cheeky Chimps Funhouse and Bridge End Gardens. While public transport is limited in this rural area, the local town is easily accessible by car or bicycle, and visitors can explore numerous footpaths and green lanes, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
