An exceptional spacious and light filled cottage promises a one-of-a-kind experience with total privacy from the outside world and rare peace. Lynx Lodge offers an enchanting location within an exotic animal retreat, surrounded by remarkable creatures and 360 panoramic countryside views. Guests can enjoy an outdoor shared pool, landscaped gardens and African hut for wildlife viewing.
The delightful 17th century cottage features a wood burner on each floor with cosy armchairs and sofas on the first floor living area, where you can curl up and enjoy a good book, or maybe lounge on the day bed and enjoy the views from the large windows that front the barn. Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals, with indoor and outdoor dining area to really soak in the magical setting.
On the ground floor you’ll find a hand-carved four-poster king-size bed dressed in an eclectic style that perfectly complements its exotic surroundings. Another wood burner provides the luxury of flame watching from the comfort of your bed. There is a shower room with a shower and WC on the first floor, and a further separate WC on the ground floor.
Step directly from your first-floor door onto a stunning glass balcony offering a magical valley view perfect for a sunset or twilight view of the stars. Step down from the balcony to your fully enclosed dog secure garden. An enchanting barbecue area awaits with dead comfy seating, cooking facilities, parasol and yes views. The adjacent fields are home to horses, pigs, sheep and goats, so expect a few uninvited guests to your barbecue.
Guests can enjoy the shared grounds with outdoor pool which is available between 30th April and 30th September and solar heated during July and August.
As darkness falls, your transported to a magical solar light experience, hundreds of solar lanterns come to life, a perfect backdrop to the Owls hooting, the Lynx calling to each other and Honey Bears chattering.
As well as being a wonderful holiday destination, the owner operates a private animal rescue sanctuary, which is BIAZA accredited. Although the rescue centre is not open for viewing, guests will not be disappointed, as a fascinating array of 200 exotic and farm animals wander the fields across 35 different species. Be enchanted by Capybara frolicking in their own swimming pools, Meerkats taking turns at look out duty, Mountain Lions playing chase in the cool of the evening, Lemurs leaping branch to branch and Monkeys being just little Monkeys! The income from the holiday cottages is invested into feed, medicines, vet support, enclosures, and enrichment.

- Parking is provided for up to one vehicle.
- The cottage is suitable for adults only, and unfortunately, we cannot accept any guests under the age of 21.
- Although linen and towels are included, guests must bring their own pool towels.
- Guests are reminded to leave the property as found, and any additional housekeeping costs may be charged to you.
- Although dogs are welcome at this home, unfortunately no other pets can be accepted.

Located in Ross-on-Wye, this cottage is in a rural area. Dean Heritage Centre and Nelson Museum & Local History Centre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Wilton Castle and Littledean Jail. Symonds Yat West Leisure Park and BattleSports Glos are also worth visiting. Take an opportunity to explore the area for water adventures such as swimming and other activities like wildlife walks.
