Cromer House Barn In The Heart Of Frosterley Village

Frosterley, County Durham

2

Located in Frosterley, County Durham, our charming converted 18th-century barn offers high-quality accommodation for two guests. This eco-friendly retreat features a secluded wildlife-friendly garden, a log store/laundry room, and off-road parking, all within a short walk from local amenities. The barn is an ideal destination for romantic getaways, walking, and cycling, serving as a perfect base for exploring the picturesque landscapes of the Durham Dales and the Northumberland coast, as well as cultural landmarks like the historic city of Durham and Hadrian's Wall.

The barn's interior is thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. Downstairs, guests will find a well-equipped kitchen complete with modern appliances, a dining area, and a wet room. Upstairs, the studio accommodation boasts a 5' kingsize bed, a cozy seating area, and entertainment options including a television with Freeview and a DVD player. While the barn offers free Wi-Fi, mobile coverage can be patchy, particularly for networks other than Vodafone and O2. A highly efficient wood-burning stove provides both warmth and hot water, supplemented by solar energy and an electric immersion system.

Guests can also enjoy the convenience of an adjacent laundry room, which features a washing machine, tumble dryer, and secure storage for bicycles. This space can double as a sunroom during warmer months, thanks to bi-fold doors that open into the garden. The property is smoke-free and offers off-road parking for one vehicle, with access across cobbled and semi-paved paths that lead through a quaint courtyard garden. However, it is important to note that the barn is not wheelchair accessible.

Frosterley provides excellent local amenities, including a well-stocked Co-op supermarket, two welcoming pubs, and a popular fish and chip shop, all within a five-minute walking distance. The area is renowned for its walking and cycling opportunities, with various routes available in the surrounding villages and nearby Hamsterley Forest. For those interested in cultural experiences, attractions such as Raby Castle, Beamish Open Air Museum, and the stunning Durham Heritage Coast are all within an hour's drive, making this barn a perfect getaway for both relaxation and adventure.
