The stunning valley of Ennerdale makes a fantastic base for keen walkers and mountain climbers. The cottage is situated on a farm track with direct access to Hackbarley and Crag Fell. Known for being one of the more remote lakes in the area, the beautiful Ennerdale Water is a little way to the east (2.5 miles). Local activities include horse riding, pony trekking, fishing, karting, bird watching and fell walking, with Pillar, Steeple, High Stile, Great Borne and Red Pike all within 10 miles. The thriving Georgian market town of Cockermouth (11.5 miles) has plenty of great pubs and restaurants, or you could head to the Cumbrian coast, with the St Bees Head Heritage Coast (8 miles) within easy reach. Entering this charming cottage, which is an annexe to the owner s house next door, you will find the pretty lounge/diner. An inviting and cosy space with a wooden beamed ceiling, the lounge has been tastefully decorated and makes a lovely space to relax in, with comfortable seating, TV, DVD and a warming wood burner. There s also a delightful dining area, ideal for enjoying your favourite meals which you can cook in the fully equipped kitchen, with an electric hob and oven, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer and a handy DAB radio. The ground floor also has a shower room complete with a shower and WC. Heading upstairs, the open tread staircase leads directly into the beautiful double bedroom, which features impressive original roof beams, a wooden floor, skylights and plenty of storage space. Stepping outside, there s a small garden area and a charming seating area in the owner s garden next door which you are welcome to use. You will also have access to the large enclosed paddock that has a pond and woodland and makes a great space for exercising dogs off the lead and watch dogs near the pond please contact the owner for more information. There s ample parking space on the gravelled driveway, and the shed is useful for storing wood, bikes, boots and other outdoor equipment.
