Dorking, Surrey

This historic cottage is in the Surrey Hills, approximately 8.5 miles from Box Hill, and is a wonderful choice for individuals who enjoy country living. From the front door, footpaths, and country lanes meander through the beautiful Surrey countryside, going through surrounding villages and hamlets. Denbies Wine Estate, located near Box Hill, caters to wine lovers. Tours, tastings, and dinners in one of two restaurants are available at England's largest vineyard. The popular historic National Trust site of Leith Hill Place and Tower is the highest point in the South of England (6 miles). It was formerly a favourite hangout of Charles Darwin, the famous naturalist, and it now attracts tourists from all over the world to see the popular gardens. Enter through the front door of this cottage, which is tucked away on the owner's grounds. Kick off your walking boots at the door and walk straight ahead to the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner that will make you feel right at home, while historic components include low ceilings and exposed timber frames. In the lounge, a comfortable sofa and armchair are positioned around a wood burner and Smart TV, which includes a fire stick and Netflix, making it ideal for cosying up on chilly evenings. Prepare a meal in the kitchen, which includes an electric oven and hob, as well as a coffee machine, microwave, fridge with a freezer compartment and a washing machine. There is also a table and four chairs in the kitchen area, ideal for a romantic dinner and making plans for the remainder of your stay. The bedroom, which sits beneath a flat top, timber framed, vaulted ceiling and has a comfortable double bed, is located upstairs. Completing this property is the bathroom which features a walk in shower, bath and WC, allowing you to unwind after a day of exploring the local area. The outdoor space is maybe the most appealing aspect of this magnificent home. The big lawn of the walled garden allows you plenty of sunbathing, and a wild pond is right next door. Enjoy a tasty BBQ while taking in the scenery and dine alfresco. There is private parking for two cars.
