This romantic hideaway is part of a complex of 17th century farm properties on National Trust farmland, and has been refurbished as a cosy holiday home, attached to the original farmhouse. It offers spectacular countryside views, less than half a mile from Buttermere village and lake look out for The Lone Tree, a much photographed birch by the shore. Meet Herdwick and Cheviot sheep, Dexter cattle and Lancashire Heeler dogs at work on the farm as you venture out on fell hikes over Grasmoor (2.5 miles), and Red Pike (17.5 miles). Follow woodland bluebell trails through Buttermere and Crummock Water (1 mile). Take time out in the Georgian market town of Cockermouth (10.5 miles) which has shops, eateries and heritage attractions. On arrival, enter the side door of this charming country cottage and step into the porch where there s an electric heater and storage space for coats and boots. Walk into the hall where there s a family bathroom to the left side with a shower over the bath, and WC. After a day out exploring the Lake District World Heritage Site, you ll appreciate the light and airy open plan kitchen, living, and dining area. Make delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen which features. Make home cooked meals together in the well equipped kitchen which includes an oven, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and convenient dishwasher, plus ample storage space. Feast in the dining area and enjoy the garden views. After dinner, snuggle up on the sofa for two by the warmth of the pebble effect electric fire and enjoy fell and lake views through the bright windows; in the evening enjoy film nights on the TV with Freesat, or read a favourite novel. The spacious king size bedroom has beautiful bedside tables and double wardrobes with ample storage space for your luggage and market town gift shopping. Outside, you ll find a private enclosed lawned garden with a garden bench and gravelled area, plus a stone BBQ space for al fresco dining under the stars. Off road parking is available for one car (park on the gravelled area in the garden or in front of the garden gate). There s a farm cafe on site with Wi Fi, and there s a pub and shop within 0.5 miles.
