Accommodating two guests, this cozy retreat features essential amenities such as electricity, a wood-burning stove, a double bed, a kettle, and a heater, making it ideal for a snug winter escape. Located near the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our campsite offers a serene environment, perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility and a connection to history.

The campsite, part of the Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre owned by Sally and Andy Birtwell, is designed to provide a peaceful outdoor experience. Guests can enjoy stargazing in the clear, dark skies, and take part in the unique setting of a stone circle known for its high electro-magnetic energy. The site, rich in historical significance, is situated on the remnants of an old Norman castle, complete with a water-filled moat, offering a compelling backdrop for exploration and relaxation.

Nearby attractions enhance the experience, including the award-winning Norman Knight pub, renowned for its excellent food and lively music nights, and Whichford Pottery, celebrated for its stunning garden, Octagon gift shop, and seasonal, locally sourced café. Visitors can also engage in gardening master classes and pottery workshops, adding a creative touch to their stay. The campsite’s location makes it an excellent base for exploring the charming Cotswold villages and their surrounding natural beauty.

While we strive to maintain our peaceful environment, past planning challenges have led us to emphasize the importance of adhering to campsite rules. We encourage guests to communicate any disturbances to ensure a harmonious experience for all. Local cultural highlights include the Wellington Aviation Museum and Fosse Gallery Fine Art, alongside various activities at the Cotswolds Distillery and Feldon Valley Golf Course, making Shipston-on-Stour an enriching destination for your next holiday.
