Originally built in the mid-19th century for silk mill workers, the cottage offers breathtaking views over a deer park and the rolling countryside, making it a perfect escape throughout the seasons.
Upon entering, guests are welcomed into an impressive dual-aspect sitting and dining area adorned with oak flooring and tasteful furnishings. This inviting space is complemented by a cozy Cotswold stone inglenook fireplace, creating a warm atmosphere for relaxing evenings. The lower ground level reveals a stunning kitchen equipped with an Aga, leading into a bright garden room that serves as a second sitting area. This room features bi-folding doors that open to a decked area overlooking the beautiful garden, which includes a large sun terrace furnished with loungers, a bistro set, and a barbecue, providing an excellent outdoor space for leisure and enjoyment.
Blockley itself is a charming village characterized by its golden stone buildings and scenic surroundings, situated between Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden. The area is rich in history and natural beauty, with numerous walking paths and landmarks, including the village's beautiful church featured in the BBC drama "Father Brown." Local amenities include a community-run café, a well-stocked shop, and two pubs, all within walking distance. Nearby attractions also encompass the famed towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway, as well as renowned gardens like Mill Dene Gardens, which are open to visitors during the warmer months.
Foxtail Cottage is also flexible in accommodation options, as it can be booked with an additional double bedroom to accommodate up to four guests. Families with children are welcome, with various amenities available upon request, including highchairs and travel cots. One well-behaved dog is permitted for an additional charge, with specific guidelines for their stay. The property features some uneven floors typical of older buildings, and while internet access is provided, it is intended for recreational use only.
