The local inn, which serves home-cooked lunch and dinner, is about 150 yards’ stroll away, and a little further along is Aberfelin Beach a secluded cove just down the hill from the pub. The famous city of St David’s, Britain’s smallest city, at the most westerly point of Wales is only a 15-minute drive, it boasts a 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of the Bishop’s Palace that you can explore. There are also many art galleries, gift shops, and a good choice of restaurants and traditional pubs specialising in local produce.
Crannog Cwtch is nestled within the garden of the owner’s home in what once would have been an outbuilding for the owner’s Edwardian villa, this cosy cottage has sympathetically restored and is full of character and charm, and the living room is perfect for relaxing with a good movie or glass of wine in front of the roaring log burner, the open plan kitchen enjoys vaulted ceilings and exposed stone walls complete with a modern bespoke fitted kitchen. For the more adventurous, take a sea safari expedition around the offshore island of Ramsey, cruising close to sea birds, seals, and the occasional bottlenose dolphin. The golden beaches of Newgale and Whitsands are within easy reach and are renowned for surfing and water sports.
A visit to Pembrokeshire would not be complete without a trip to its majestic sites of the west including Pembroke, Carew, and Manorbier castles, or a trip to the award-winning leisure attractions of Oakwood, Folly Farm, and Anna’s Welsh Zoo located in the south of the county near the popular tourist resort of Tenby.
