Tucked away within the stunning countryside, just to the north of the market towns of Wadebridge and Bodmin, you will discover Keepers Cottage, a cottage forged from Cornish granite with a deep historical heritage. The cottage was once part of the Tredethy Estate and served as servants’ quarters for those employed within the stables and vast grounds. Quant and elegant, you will find an open-plan living space, with a modern kitchen and excellent range of equipment, a cosy sofa and a breakfast bar which doubles as a casual dining space. A welcome pack will be provided for you. The staircase leads up to the first floor towards an inviting kingsize bedroom, the bed includes luxury linen and with a very comfortable mattress, made by Harrison Spinks. A great place to get a relaxing night’s rest after exploring the delights the area has in store. The bathroom is superb, beautifully styled with a large double shower. The outside space has a small lawned garden to the front with seating, and a communal garden picnic area, where you are surrounded by flora and fauna and hedgerows dotted with flowers, along with wildlife to spot includes buzzards, woodpeckers and owls. As a base, this delightful cottage delivers on many fronts.
A short distance the world-famous Camel Trail, can be reached just down the hill where you can cycle towards Padstow or Wentfordbridge, Pencarrow House and gardens, Haywoods Cider Farm, the chilling Bodmin Jail Experience, Lanhydrock, heritage steam railway, along with easily accessible trips to Eden Project and more besides. Scenic Tintagel, with its mysterious links to King Arthur and of course Port Isaac of ’Doc Martin’ fame, are all within reach and offer walks, breath-taking vistas, pubs, cafés and quirky cottages. To the south lies Fowey, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where wonderful architecture, the famous Regatta and Christmas Market attracts thousands of visitors each year. Traditional pubs nearby include the St Mabyn Inn, St Tudy Inn and The Malsters Chapel Amble for cosy Sunday lunches, afternoon tea or evening meals, all come highly recommended A must visit is to the Inn at Blissland, and St Breward’s Poldark country is perfect for hiking explorers. Other scenic walks include St Necturns, Glenn’s Waterfall, Pentire Walk and many other National Trust walks to choose from along the rugged Cornish north coast. Amongst the many beaches nearby include Rock, Polzeath, Trevone Bay and Harlyn Bay, offering a range of water sports. Perfect for couples, (cyclists and ramblers), this cottage is a welcome getaway for those in search of a break from the hustles of busy life. Cornwall's Regimental Museum and North Cornwall Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Eden Project and Lanhydrock. Pinsla Garden and Nursery and Cornish Coast Day Adventures are also worth visiting. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as horse riding in the area.
