Nestling in beautiful rural surroundings in the pretty village of Cotherstone, just a short drive from the historic market town of Barnard Castle. This fabulous annex overlooks a lovely lawned garden and out to the paddock and countryside beyond. A perfect place to come and enjoy peace and tranquillity, with numerous local walking routes leading straight from the door, whether a gentle stroll, a riverside walk or enjoying the scenery along the Teesdale Way, both just 100yds from the Annex.
Inside, the accommodation is studio style. With an attractive colour palette and stylish furnishings and fittings to ensure you will feel right at home, there is a cosy open plan living/dining/bedroom area, boasting a 55” Smart TV. It has a wonderful light and airy feel, with relaxing chairs, just what you need for a cosy night in. A perfect place to open the wine and relax with a good movie. A separate, small kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up a tasty breakfast or supper.
The king size bed is dressed in quality bed linens and to provide flexibility can be twin beds on request. There is a separate en-suite with a large walk-in shower. Outside there is a private patio area set with bistro table and chairs, overlooking the garden it is quiet and peaceful, with just the sounds of the countryside. At night, enjoy the beautiful dark skies and star spotting. Beyond the garden area is an enclosed paddock, perfect to safely exercise your dog. The property is accessed along a quiet country lane, so there is very little noise other than bird song and the occasional tractor.
There are so many things to enjoy in the surrounding area, such as Barnard Castle only four miles away - with the famous Bowes Museum and gallery, a host of independent shops and antique quarter, coffee shops and lunch stops, pubs, and a good selection of restaurants. The market town plays hosts to several events and carnivals throughout the year. Nearby Raby Castle is worth a visit, with beautiful grounds and deer park and newly opened Plotter’s treehouse. Bishop Auckland is a 30 minute drive away and annually hosts the historic open-air spectacle, Kynren. The location is equidistant from the East and West coast and just an hour from the Lake District National Park. Cotherstone is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. With an abundance of walking routes, The Teesdale Way and the Pennine Way or enjoy a short hike to Goldsborough. Nearby visit Middleton in Teesdale and the High Force waterfalls. The area is popular with cyclists, and in September welcomes the Tour of Britain event. For guests wishing to bring cycles there is safe storage available. Canoeists love Cotherstone, with access to the river just 100 yds away. For food and drink, there are some excellent pubs and restaurants in the area. Cotherstone has two village inns, one of which serves excellent, home cooked food and drink, and a great place to stop off after a day exploring or a little further afield visit the highest pub in Britain at Tan Hill.

Richmond Market Place and The Station are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Yorkshire Dales National Park and North Pennines. Eggleston Hall and Walworth Castle Birds of Prey are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding nearby.
