Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Gwynedd

12

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, located in Gwynedd, Wales, is home to a stunning Grade II listed property that was once an old slate mill. This remarkable retreat, set down a quiet lane, offers breathtaking views over the Menai Straits and is conveniently situated near the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designed to accommodate up to 12 guests, the property features six beautifully appointed bedrooms, making it an ideal getaway for families or groups of friends seeking a memorable escape.

The layout of the retreat is both enchanting and functional, spanning three floors. Guests can gather in the country cottage kitchen or the spacious open-plan living area, which is highlighted by a woodburning stove and a dining table that seats up to 12 people. The double-height, galleried ceiling showcases exposed beams, adding character to the space. One of the galleries even features a small library, while a games room invites friendly competition with a table tennis setup. After a day of exploration, the cozy seating area with oversized sofas and chairs provides the perfect spot to unwind.

Accommodations offer a range of sleeping arrangements to cater to various preferences, including a sleigh bed and a twin room on the upper level, a single room with a trundle bed on the lower ground floor, and two king-size bedrooms. The ground floor master suite includes ample storage, a walk-in shower room, and picturesque views that invite the natural scenery inside. Guests can enjoy the convenience of two additional bathrooms and a shower room, ensuring comfort for all. A small tea station enhances the morning routine, allowing for a relaxing start to the day.

Outside, the property features an enclosed courtyard with patio furniture, perfect for enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The front of the house offers a slipway and mooring, complemented by lawned and gravelled areas equipped with garden furniture. A leisurely stroll past the octagonal Toll House leads to Menai Bridge, where visitors can climb the 115 steps of the Marquis of Anglesey statue for panoramic views of the countryside and coastline. With nearby pubs, restaurants, craft shops, and the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, this serene destination provides an ideal base for a delightful holiday experience.
