The interior of the Owl House is dominated by a magnificent open-plan living space that boasts a striking handmade 16ft dining table, complemented by an impressive chandelier crafted from shed antlers. The double vaulted ceiling, featuring exposed Canadian spruce timbers, creates a breathtaking atmosphere. With Indian stone flooring that remains cool in the summer and underfloor heating for the cooler months, the space is designed for comfort year-round. A wood-burning stove adds a cozy touch during winter, ensuring that this retreat is perfect for families and groups of friends, no matter the season.
Attention to detail is evident throughout the Owl House, which combines authentic character with luxurious amenities. A bespoke staircase leads to a charming loft room equipped with a super king bed and a stylish en-suite featuring a double-ended slipper bath, twin basins, and a deluxe shower. Velux windows provide delightful views of the courtyard, which is highlighted by a picturesque fountain. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of the local gastro-pub, The Dabbling Duck, in Great Massingham, enhancing the overall experience for guests.
The Owl House is part of the Hill Farm Massingham barns, which can be booked individually or in combination with two other properties, Fallow Folly and Red Stag Lodge, accommodating up to 31 guests. The Owl House is particularly noted for its spaciousness and is often referred to as the "entertainment capital" when all three barns are occupied together. Additionally, the property welcomes two dogs for a small extra charge, with the stipulation that they remain on leads due to the presence of deer. Guests have access to shared facilities, including the pool and sauna, and are required to sign a Declaration/Disclaimer upon arrival, ensuring a safe and enjoyable stay in this idyllic setting.
