The extensive restoration took seven years, resulting in a spacious home that features five bedrooms—four of which are conveniently located on the ground floor. Three of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms, while a family bathroom serves the remaining two, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests.
The interior of The Chapel is characterized by its striking design elements, including original wooden parquet flooring, a grand oak staircase, vaulted ceilings, Portland columns, and beautiful gothic windows. The tasteful decor and eclectic furnishings are thoughtfully curated, with vibrant colors adding warmth and character to the rooms. Outside, guests can enjoy the tranquil rural setting, complete with mature trees that provide a peaceful backdrop for outdoor dining. The garden is fully fenced and enclosed, although it is important to note that the outer garden and woodland area are not secured for dogs.
In terms of local amenities, the charming village of North Elmham is just a short drive or a pleasant walk along a disused railway away. Here, visitors can find essential services, including a post office/cafe, a village shop, and two well-regarded pubs: The Kings Head and The Railway Arms, which offer meals and drinks. For a special dining experience, the nearby Brisley Bell comes highly recommended, having recently won an award at The Great British Pub Awards 2021 and received praise in The Telegraph. Additionally, a fish and chip shop provides a convenient takeaway option for guests looking to enjoy a cozy meal by the fire.
Guests should be aware that supervision is required for children and dogs while in the gardens, particularly due to the presence of a large open pond and a river in the meadow that are not suitable for swimming. The property welcomes up to four well-behaved dogs for an additional charge, and guests are advised to bring their own Nespresso coffee pods for the coffee machine. It is also important to note that there is no infant equipment provided, and the property operates on a private water supply.
