Fresh fish and boat trips are often available from the quay, which also offers an excellent vantage point from which to observe the passing maritime activities and lovely views across to the beach and water sports centre at Instow. A short drive brings you to the vast surf-washed sands, entertainments and Royal Golf Links of Westward Ho!, and the burrows, nature reserve and indoor pool and leisure centre at Northam. Horse riding stables and adventure school with tuition for outdoor activities including surfing, canoeing, abseiling etc are also nearby. The market town amenities at the Elizabethan port of Bideford and the Big Sheep theme park are each less than 5 miles away, with the dramatic National Trust coastline and footpaths around Clovelly and Bucks Mills also within a scenic 15 mile journey.
