Open the door to Apple Tree Cottage and prepare yourself for a wraparound hug. This Grade II listed cottage has been renovated with so much love that you feel at home immediately.
The elegant sitting room has a huge recently discovered fireplace, now filled with a wood burning stove and surrounded by Welsh slate. Sink into one of the comfortable sofas and relax. Look around at the detailed renovations - the Georgian arch guides you through to the kitchen, the door knob that invites you to peak inside the elegant dining room. Little touches abound and you soon realise the Owner is a perfectionist who really understands Apple Tree Cottage. The pip was originally planted in 1772 but the tree was pruned beautifully a year ago and has been lovingly nurtured and grown into what you are about to enjoy.
For cooks who love to create the kitchen is bursting with everything you could possibly need. Welsh slate worktops envelop an oven and hob that beg to be used once you have sourced some delicious local produce. Welsh lamb from the surrounding fields or lobsters, mussels or scallops straight from the sea….sprinkled with Anglesey sea salt and savoured slowly as time is on your side. Washing up is a joy with a dishwasher and full scullery off the kitchen. Even this room is finished elegantly. Whoever thought there would be joy in such a room?
Eat in the kitchen, garden or formal dining room. So lovely to have a choice. The dining room doubles up as a wonderful breakfast room and is bursting with history. Everything has been discovered locally and restored to its current glory. Fine china decorates the table and pays homage to your culinary delights. Sit a while and catch up with friends, stories abound after time apart. An ESSE log burner sits proud and warm ensuring leisurely breakfasts or sumptuous suppers are comforting and cosy. Spend time with family, much needed as everyday life is so busy these days. Linger over another glass of wine or slip back through to the sitting room and curl up in front of the fire. Another story, another log on the fire. The night creeps in beckoning you to climb the stairs to bed.
Wind your way up the Grade II listed Chinese Chippendale staircase to two elegantly dressed double bedrooms that sit proudly at the front of the house - with beds to sink into ready to sleep the sleep of those who have felt the sea air. Deep sleep is guaranteed after adventurous walks and historic explorations.
At the back of the house, overlooking the most beautiful garden, is a single bedroom with a generous 3ft bed. Scoot into bed and leave the curtains open so you can be the first up in the hope of spotting the resident red squirrels or happy birds perched in the apple tree singing good morning to all.
The final room houses the splendid new bathroom with large walk in shower and sumptuous bath, you will be guaranteed to relax in here. Long lazy baths at the end of fun filled days or invigorating showers to wake sleepy heads up ready to tackle the next adventure.
Garden lovers, of the two and four legged variety, will be in utter awe of the garden. Filled to the brim with flowers that keep on blooming as the seasons progress. Aconites, hellebores, snowdrops, daffodils, apple blossom and anemones followed by roses that scent the evening air. Dine outside wrapped in scent or nip into the potting shed that is so beautiful, painted in Farrow and Ball green blue, and beckons the garden in. Look at the detail within the "shed" - the borders are made from old screens rescued from afar and nurtured back to life with all the plants that will tickle your senses and make a quiet cup of coffee all the more enjoyable. Wander back along the path and nip into the outside loo, no need to venture back inside until you are ready! Honestly, everything is here to make your life so utterly blissful!
Once you are ready to venture out there is plenty to explore within easy walking distance. A slow stroll along Church Street, with longing glances in shops along the way brings you to Castle Street where you will find an abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants. Beaumaris Castle anchors the town and proves an interesting morning for avid castle lovers, with incredible panoramic views none will be disappointed. Apple Tree Cottage is a flip flop away from the incredible seaside views Beaumaris is famous for. Beaumaris Pier draws you along its boards beckoning you to look across the Menai Strait to the Snowdonia mountains , admiring the sailors as the bob about in boats galore.
