About this space
Burneside is on the edge of the Lake District National Park and this studio apartment is between the local railway station and tennis club and within a few minutes drive of the Carus Green Golf Club. So whether you're heading into the Lakes, fancy a spot of tennis or keen on a round of golf, The Studio makes a fantastic base for exploring all the Lake District has to offer.
The space
The Studio is located above a garage so there are about 15 steps up to the living space. It has a king sized bed, snuggler couch, JVC smart TV, dining table and two chairs, a kitchen area with a kettle, toaster, fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave oven and electric hob. There is also a shower room with a toilet and basin. There is a wardrobe space where you can hang clothes and a beside drawer, cupboard and shelf. The apartment has a juliette balcony and a number of velux skylights which give it a light and spacious feel.
There is a free off street parking space just outside the property and it is a three minute walk to Burneside Train Station where you can catch trains towards Kendal or Windermere and a four minute walk to the local bus stop.
Burneside is a small village to the north of Kendal. It began life as part of one of the large Westmorland estates and began to grow into a village with the opening of a woollen mill in the mid 1700's. This was converted to a paper mill in the 1830's and then leased to James Cropper in 1845. James Cropper then took full control and expanded the mill in 1854. The mill still bears his name and continues to produce high quality paper and packaging as well as advanced technical fibre products. The village still retains it's small village feel and many of the residents still work for Croppers.
The Studio was built in 1994 by one of the engineers from Croppers.
We provide bedding for the king sized bed and a bath sheet and hand towel for each guest. We also supply hand wash and a hair and body wash in a refillable aluminium bottle from our local suppliers the Bath House. We hope you enjoy these toiletries but would ask that you do not take them home with you as we would have to charge for their replacement.
You will also find a selection of complimentary teas and coffees along with sugar and some UHT milk sachets, as well as a washing-up pack, toilet roll, kitchen towels, oil, salt and pepper and tin foil, cling film and greaseproof paper. These should last a couple of days but if more is needed there is a convenience store a few minutes walk away or you can easily stock up at Morrisons, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Lidl or Asda in Kendal which can be reached by car in less than ten minutes.
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole property via a private entrance.
Other things to note
Check-in is from 16:00 and Check-out is before 10:00. Unless you have prior approval, a £50 charge will be requested if you check out or check in up to an hour outside these times and an extra night's rate for any time greater than this as this will cause disruption to the cleaner’s schedule and may affect our next guests.
There will be a £50 call out fee if keys are locked inside the property and a £100 fee if keys are lost.
The property is set up to allow remote access with easy self check-in meaning that no direct contact with anyone is needed.
Additional rules
Please note that check in time is from 4pm and check out is before 10am. Unless you have advance approval for an early check in or late check out, these will be charged at £50 for up to an hour and an extra night's rate for any time greater than an hour.
A fee of £100 will be charged for lost keys, so please take care of them and leave them in the key safe upon departure. We will also charge a callout fee of £50 if you lock the keys inside the property.
Please leave the property in a similar state to when you arrived and lock all doors and windows.

This apartment is located in Kendal. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Kendal Museum and Lakeland Climbing Centre are also worth visiting.
