Summary:
The Birds Nest is a brand new holiday home for August 2020. This one bedroom, studio apartment is located on the second floor of the building and overlooks Whitby Harbour. With Abbey views and a short stroll to Whitby town centre, this apartment is the perfect retreat if you are looking to enjoy all the famous features of Whitby.

The Space:
The Birds Nest has a light and airy feel throughout. Crisp white walls, wooden flooring and premium furnishings create a bright and modern look. Open plan in style, the social space includes the kitchen, dining and living area.

With pale grey cabinets and white worktops, the kitchen has a beautiful look. Grey brick style tiles and white accessories work perfectly in the space. The built in sink has a routed groove draining board and a statement faucet to complete the luxury look. Fully equipped for self-catering staycations, the kitchen has an oven, hob, refrigerator, kettle, microwave and toaster. There is also a dishwasher and a coffee machine for your convenience. The dining area includes a marble style breakfast bar and grey wire stools.

Sharing this space is the cosy living area. With a teal coloured, velvet sofa and a flat screen Freeview TV, this is the perfect spot to relax during your stay. Snuggle up on the sofa and watch your favourite shows or open the patio doors and kick back with a good book. Beautifully accessorised, the space also includes a marble coffee table and an industrial style shelving unit.

The studio apartment also boasts a spacious bedroom. With sloped ceilings and huge windows, this room has plenty of character. You’ll enjoy your nights sleep in the comfortable King size bed as it is complete with premium bedding and crisp linens. Ideal for relaxing, you can sit at the arched window seat and watch the world go by. Straight ahead, you’ll also see views of the harbour and to the right you can spot Whitby Abbey in the distance.

The bathroom is off the open plan living space and includes a walk in shower, WC and basin. Modern and clean, the space features a skylight window and a vanity mirror with light up mood lighting.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

There is free parking on the premises for one car. Additional free parking can be found nearby, and full details will be sent to you before check in.

The Neighborhood:
The Birds Nest is located on Spital Bridge, on the east side of Whitby. Stay here and you’ll be in the perfect spot to explore everything the seaside town has to offer. Just a short walk will bring you to the town centre where you’ll find narrow, medieval streets dotted with shops, pubs and cafes. Explore boutiques selling Whitby Jet jewellery or try the local catch of the day in one of the many restaurants.

Climb the famous 199 steps and you’ll arrive at the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Head over the small bridge which crosses the River Esk and you’ll find yourself on the west side of Whitby. Venture along Pier Road and you’ll see arcades and shops, plus plenty more pubs and restaurants. Keep walking and you’ll reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff beach which is lined with beach huts. Take a stroll along the pier and watch the waves lap the shores below.

Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short ten-minute walk from The Birds Nest.

Whitby train station is less than 15-minutes away on foot so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.

This apartment is located in Whitby. Whitby Harbour and Whitby Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore North York Moors National Park and Whitby Beach. Museum of Victorian Science and The Moors National Park Centre are also worth visiting.
