It is set on the mouth of the estuary across from the fishing village of Shaldon, accessible by a five minutes ferry ride. Teignmouth has two beaches, the main promenade beach which is half a mile long and famous pier and a smaller beach, with its small local pubs and great seafood restaurants. The town is set on a main rail link which also has the added attraction of a car free holiday. To the west The English Riviera and beyond beckons; Torquay, Paignton and Salcombe are all within easy reach.
