This charming getaway for two is located just a short distance from the ancient village of Pevensey. Pevensey Castle began its life as a Saxon Shore fort in the 4th century, and an impressive two thirds of the original walls still stand, with the Norman parts being added after William the Conqueror s invasion. English Heritage now manage the castle, and it makes a great place for an afternoon out exploring the towered bailey and the atmospheric dungeons. There is also an interesting gaol and courthouse museum in the village, as well as a number of shops and pubs. The neighbouring village of Pevensey Bay, two miles from the property, is home to a shingle beach which tends to be quieter than other local beaches, even in high season. The seaside towns of Hastings and Eastbourne are a short drive away. At the heart of this pleasant ground floor property is the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner: a light and airy room with two comfortable sofas and a TV for guests to enjoy after a busy day of sightseeing. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge. There is a small table with seating for two next to the patio doors, which open onto the outside seating area. The property s one bedroom is a peaceful, relaxing double room with a built in wardrobe. The wet room, meanwhile, is located close to the bedroom, and offers a walk in wet room and WC. Outside, there is a secluded shingled courtyard garden to the front of the property, which is accessed through the patio door in the kitchen and offers a table and chairs, making it the ideal place to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals. There is off road parking which is conveniently situated adjacent to the property.
