Venturing north into the National Park, you can explore the spectacular surroundings of Coniston Water (6 miles) or more popular Windermere (11 miles). The lovely villages of Hawkshead and Near Sawrey with their Beatrix Potter connections can also be accessed from here. Outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice, as there s a range of activities nearby, such as walking, cycling, canoeing, climbing, golf and sailing. Grizedale Forest Park (12 miles) has a number of these on offer.
